Vans, the legendary skate shoe brand, has launched a new pair of mountain bike shoes for 2011 called Gravel. Featuring Van’s classic WaffleGrip tread pattern, the shoes are designed specifically for riders who prefer flat pedal.

The Gravel offers not only performance on the bike but a fashionable look to the rider as well. Built for flats or platforms, these shoes will stick to traditional BMX-style pedals very well. This is achieved through the custom-designed TRAX rubber outsole.

Durable and breathable, the 2011 Vans Gravel Mountain Bike Shoes feature synthetic leather and mesh upper that make it stand the test of time. The removable hook-and-loop strap allows for more pedal power. Abrasive-resistant synthetic materials wrap the entire upper making the shoes water-repellant.

As introduced by Ryan Guettler, the BMX ambassador, the new Vans Whip 3 BMX Shoes are making a splash thanks to its supreme functions and adaptability towards other sports.

The new Vans Whip 3 features premium seven-panel uppers, with a custom triple diameter perforated quarter panel and internal elastic tongue stays.

These shoes also sports extra durable double-stitched vamp and toe cap and supportive die-cut EVA midsoles. The BMX shoes from Vans also feature gum rubber and multi-colored SBR rubber waffle soles.

The shoes are priced at $98.09 and are available at both online stores and at shoe stores.

Apart of the Vans has hooked up with Brooks Saddles for a special release of the Syndicates, which is apart of the Vans Vault collection. Using a simple color scheme of black and brown which matches nicely with the Brooks saddle. It is also said that Vans will also release a collaborative shoe with Filson and Pendleton in 2010. If the Vans are constructed anything like Brooks Saddles, you know they will hold up against any type of trauma.

Just yesterday we showed you the BMX Vans x Empire, and today another pair of shoes by Vans for cycling has landed online, called the Vans Warner SPD. Made specifically for Mountain Biking and BMX, the Vans Warner SPD Shoes feature a rubber sole with the Off the Wall waffle tread, centered tongue to keep debris from getting into your shoes, and molded sockliner. Vans tried to keep the Warner SPD as light as possible, while still stiff. If you want a pair now, you will have to wait for the white/grey/blue pair, but a black/white pair has already released.
