The Koga Cobblecrosser is the result of Shimano and Koga’s partnership with Skil-Shimano. This bike is designed specifically for the Paris-Roubaix competition.

The Cobblecrosser is aptly named because it aims to help its rider on cobbled roads, irregardless of the climate, whether dry or wet. The frame has a wide space around the brakes and wheels. The frame is also of high quality shock absorbing material called scandium.

For better suspension, Shimano chose to include cantilever-type brakes and molded the 32-spoke wheelset with aluminium rims that are set low. Special satellite shifters and the Shimano electronic Di2 gear system are on the handle bars so you can shift gears with your hands.

After Fumiyuki Beppu’s admittance of his violation of the UCI rules of the Skil-Shamano cycling team, he was finally let go. Beppu was an ex-member of the Discovery Team and still holds a year in contract with the Japanese team which started last year in Tour de France. But recently, he acknowledged that he came to a verbal agreement to be a part of the American RadioShack without informing his own team.

The Skil team noted that they will only let go of Beppu if he would be proven to have violated the rules of the UCI. Hence, after the 26-year old’s confession of his violation, he was given the option to leave his contract by a certain form of payment through a non-negotiable compensation to his employer. This is to remind him that the Skil-Shimano team is no longer interested to pursue a successful relationship with him.

Dominique Cornu has his sights firmly focused on the 2010 World Track Championships as he begins his first season with Team Skil-Shimano. The Belgian star has already began track tests in The Netherlands, with his new team in full support of his Track Worlds goals.

Cornu is taking this opportunity from Team Skil-Shimano to try out his new bike and gear at the Apeldoorn Velodrome in The Netherlands, and he is reportedly pleased with the initial results. The Belgian rider is known as a specialist in racing against the clock, and will be gunning for a victory in the 4,000m Individual Pursuit, as well as getting a win in the team pursuit events.
