Andy Schleck of Team Saxo Bank continues to suffer an awful season this year as he suffers yet another setback by having to drop out of the 2010 Volta a Catalunya before the start of the 2nd stage. Neither Schleck or representatives from Team Saxo Bank have given statements regarding the specific reason.
Schleck had joined the opening time trial race for the Volta a Catalunya and finished at 131st, but he was absent from the starting line of the 2nd stage this Tuesday. The Saxo Bank rider had injured his knee when he was hurt in a car accident during training last December 2009, and had to undergo a series of medical treatments while training in the winter. He failed to make an early start for the 2010 season when his knee started acting up again last January this year.
