The 2011 Specialized Enduro Expert EVO model comes with a specialized command post that has a 3-position 125mm adjustable-height seatpost to fit comfortably. With it is a remote operated lever that can change riding positions. It has a seat binder that comes in the color of black, which composes a 34.9mm clamp ID, 7050 hard annodized alloy collar w/ QR.

A M5 alloy fully manipulated frame with ORE TT/DT, sealed cartridge bearing pivots and a replaceable derailleur hanger is used. This 160mm travel is also designed with a tapered headtube. This mtb comes with not just that, but also possesses a headtube measurements of 1 1/8 and 1.5” Threadless, campy style upper and a 1.5” lower with cartridge bearings.

The 2011 Specialized Era FSR Comp and Carbon models are updated and takes after its sister bike Safire by having a redesign specific for women riders. The frame itself is a FACT carbon with M5 aluminum alloy rear swingarm. It also features a tapered headtube and oversized BB to keep the frame light and ready to take on any race or challenges ahead.

For the rear suspension, Fox and Specialized came up with the Mini Brain shock that gives 100mm travel. It has BrainFade inertia valve, adjustable rebound and air spring. For the front, RockShox Reba RLT takes care of it with 100mm suspension. The 2011 Era uses the Specialized Future Shock E100 fork with carbon headtube 1-1/8″ to 1.5″ crown/steerer make.

The Safire aims to be the leading model for women when it comes to off-road/all-mountain bikes. It comes in two models, the Safire FSR Pro and the Safire FSR Comp.

Specialized redesigned the Safire, giving it heavy looking tubes, a lower front end and inline suspension or the FSR type of suspension. The frame is made from M5 aluminum alloy and the toptube comes in 3 pieces. 2 are hydroformed tubes and the third piece is a forged hollow centerpiece. The lower front end was due to a tapered headtube and integrated bearings to allow riders better cycling position to give maximum performance on the trail during climbs and descents.

Precious Bike Tweeting for Cancer Research Funding

Precious is the bike with a brain, designed and built by Breakfast NY to be the vehicle where you can donate money to fund cancer research via LIVESTRONG. Precious is a Specialized Tricross Comp bike ridden by a British girl named Janeen. For the next three months, Precious will be on a road trip from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast.

Breakfast NY designed Precious with silicon sensors which gathers data on humidity, temperature, speed, location, cadence, roadkill, grade and direction. The data is processed and are translated into thoughts and feelings which will then be shared trough Precious’ Twitter account.

The makers of Precious further explains how this cool innovative and charitable move came to be, “To gather all of the data from the bike, we developed a device to capture temperature, humidity, grade, speed, cadence (pedal rotation), direction and GPS. The new 2011 Specialized Demo 8 One gets a makeover. It is built thinner and with a rear wider than the 2010 model. It has a rearward shock eyelet which can be rotated to 90 degrees. The rear end is 150x12mm and uses the SRAM drivetrain.

The Demo 8 One has a Boxxer race fork and features a modified center of gravity. It has been lowered, making the shock sit on the lower part of the frame. It also has a low BB height as for when you bring the COG down.

The 2011 Specialized Demo 8 One’s headtube is 8mm shorter than its predecessor. You can also mount the shock through the tire and this was mainly because of the lowered center of gravity.
