Wabi Cycles has upgraded the Special bike with the serious traditionalist rider in mind. Using Reynolds 725 double butted steel and investment cast lugs, its frame was hand built first in Taiwan before it was assembled by Wabi in LA. For the ultimate ride, the frame was fully lugged and brazed.
Combining old and new features, the bike uses 1 1/8″ aheadset type steerer system with Reynolds 725 oversized thin walled tubes. With increased efficiency and integrity, the ride characteristics are optimized by the tested technique for joining the frame tubes, which is low temperature brazing.
Ride is guaranteed fast yet comfortable by the road racing inspired frame design of the 2011 Wabi Special. The dependable component selection is both light and durable. The lightweight and responsive wheels weigh 1.75kg per set while the entire bike is 8.45kg.
