The 2010 Sea Otter Classic Dual Slalom and Downhill events come to a close with pre-race favorites bagging the win in pro gravity racing.

Saturday’s race had first-place qualifier Brian Lopes took to a crash and Josh Bryceland who was 32nd qualifier also had a slip-up and this led to elimination from the race. Aaron Gwin was in the running for first place but Hannah overtook Gwin’s lead during the sprint section of the course.

The women’s event was also full of action which led to Kintner’s win; Rachel Atherton came at a close second and Sabrina Jonnier at third place.

Jared Graves took first place in the Downhill event for men, riding the same 4x bike on which he placed fourth in Dual Slalom. Gwin finished second to his teammate, making him take home the silver twice for the weekend event. Lopes makes a comeback to finish at third place while Hannah…

Two major North American cycling events will be be fund raising and creating awareness for injured and recovering soldiers. The two races are the Battenkill and the Sea Otter Classic. The Battenkill races, both pro and amateur, will be adding a “Ride2RecoveryCycleFest” as part of the event. The program is produced by the Fitness Challenge Foundation as well as the Military and VA Service Office, and its purpose is to benefit the rehabilitation, both mental and physical, for veterans. The Sea Otter Classic, celebrating its 20th anniversary in April 2010, joined up with the Wounded Warrior Project and the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund to raise funds for wounded soldiers.
