2012 Redline Flight Carbon Frame

2012 redline flight carbon frame 2012 Redline Flight Carbon Frame

For 2012, Redline has introduced a carbon frame for BMX called Flight for the first time. After thorough research and deliberation, Redline has chosen carbon fiber in order to achieve an excellent strength to weight ratio as well as an ultimately flexible design.

In specific areas of the Flight frame, Redline was able to either increase or decrease the amount of fibers through a carbon fiber manufacturing process. This process allowed for the optimum adjustments on the frame’s weight, ride quality, and stiffness.

With a Euro BB, integrated headtube, and enclosed 15mm dropouts, the 2012 Redline Flight Carbon Frame weighs 1.27 kg and 1.36kg for XL and XXL sizes respectively. This means that this frame is 25% lighter as compared to the Flight R6 alloy frame.

2008 Redline D640 Recall

2008 redline d640 recall 2008 Redline D640 Recall

A recall of the 2008 D640 bikes was issued by Redline Bicycles on December 9, 2010. Its parent company, Seattle Bike Supply, released a safety notice regarding the frames of the D640 2008 models. It’s suggested to immediately stop the use of the affected bicycles because cracking in the headtube welded joints can lead to separation of the headtube from the frame. On the frame’s top tube, you’ll find the model number. There are about 200 units sold from December 2007 to May 2010.

As such, this is hazardous since it can result in injury. So far, there have been eight reports of headtubes detaching from the frame with four incidents of reported minor injuries. To get a free frame replacement, contact your local Redline Bicycle dealer.

For more information, you can call (800)-283-2453 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm PST or visit www.redlinebicycles.com….

Not long ago we shared the 2011 Flight series from Redline, and now we share with you the 2011 Redline Proline series, a step down from the Flight models.

Just like the Flight series, the Redline 2011 Proline series features 9 bikes, which are the Proline Pro 24, Proline Pro XL, Proline Pro, Proline Expert XL, Proline Expert, Proline Junior, Proline Micro, Proline Mini, and the Proline Pitboss.

The line comes in all sizes, and for the most part similar materials and components. For example, the frames for the 2011 Proline series is made from 6061-T6 Aluminum, and the forks are Chromoly (some are butted).

Although the 2011 Proline is a step down from Redline’s Flight series, both feature some of the same components and geometry. With that said, the Proline is still a top tier bmx racing bike.

First introduced a few months ago, Redline is ready to release the 2011 Urbis fixed.

A new color, white, is available but other than that not much has changed from the 2010 to the 2011 Redline Urbis. Retail price is around $550.
