Aside from its first carbon frame called Carbine, Intense Cycles has also unveiled its composite frame for 2012 called Hard Eddie. While it is famous for producing topnotch full suspension bikes, Intense Cycles takes pride in this new no suspension machine.

Tapered steer tube compatible, the crafty black and internally routed Hard Eddie frame features chain stay mounted disc brakes. Stiffness is improved by its stiff and big BB30bottom bracket and incredibly large tapered headtube junction with an ingenious geometry.

Like the new carbon Carbine frame, the 2012 Intense Cycles Hard Eddie 29 Mountain Bike is another exciting machine. As a different line for the company, the release of this new carbon fiber 29-inch hardtail mountain bike is momentous.

After almost three years of working on carbon fiber, Intense Cycles has finally introduced the Carbine all-mountain bike for 2012. Just like all Intense full suspension bikes, the Carbine is constructed on the tested VPP suspension system. Its travel settings are either at 140 or at 152mm.

Also tested is the locking collet bolt axle system used so that the pivots will keep rolling smoothly. Maintenance is made easier by the sealed angular contact bearings well matched with grease fittings. To maximize stiffness at the crank, the bottom bracket features a BB92 press fit shell.

Intended for trail, AM, and Enduro, the 2012 Intense Cycles Carbine Carbon Fiber Mountain Bike is one exciting new item on the market. Other features are a built-in FLK:GRD down tube protector, replaceable G1 dropouts, dropper post cable routing, and water bottle mounts.
