Faulty seat saddle clamp bolts were detected on the 2012 Trek FX and District Bicycles, which prompted the voluntary recall of these bikes. Four incidents were reported to Trek Bikes, one which involve a lip injury and a broken tooth.
Trek has advised owners of these bikes to immediately stop riding and bring them in to any local Trek retailer free inspection and replacement bolt. The bike is a 2012 model if the last two digits of the SKU number on the bottom bracket are 12.
Included in the 2012 Trek FX and District Bicycles recalled are the 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, and 7.5 FX models and Disc, Livestrong and WSD 9th District bikes. These bikes, which were manufactured in China, were approximately 27,000 units.
