Ibis Cycles has unveiled a new carbon fiber hardtail mountain bike called Tranny for 2012. A first glance, this mountain bike looks simple. However, a closer look will reveal that this new machine has a lot to offer and it is perfect for serious mountain bike riders.

The first thing that the Tranny can pride itself on is its carbon monocoque frame, which is one of the most versatile ones available on the market today. Though one of the most lightweight mountain bikes ever made, the Tranny stuns riders with its exceptional strength and performance on the trail.

Built from high modulus carbon, the frame of the 2012 Ibis Tranny Carbon Fiber Hardtail Mountain Bike weighs only 1.4kg. The entire bike weighs in at 8.62kg. It is available in four sizes and offers singlespeed and geared compatibilities.

Sampson Sports, a company known for technically advanced framesets based in Denver, has introduced a new carbon fiber road pedal called Stratics SL after a meticulous process of development and testing. The 66mm wide top surface of the pedal comes with a supporting steel plate. Aside from making the platform more durable for the cleats, the plate enhances the pedal’s structural rigidity, as well. Long life is guaranteed by the pedal’s top plate, which is a fully polished stainless steel.

Built from long-strand carbon fibers, the body of the 2012 Sampson Stratics SL Carbon Fiber Road Pedal has lost a considerable amount of weight. Both comfort and power are maximized by the cleats that lay flat, thanks to the No-Rock cleat design of the pedal’s platform.

For the first time, Pivot Cycles has released a carbon fiber mountain bike called Mach 5.7 Carbon. Featured by the 142 X 12mm through axle design is a forged 7075-T6 derailleur hanger that comes with an integrated axle nut. Its matte natural carbon comes with green, cyan, pink, or red highlights.

The internal molding technology used by the Mach 5.7 frame is hollow-box and high-compression. Like the overall rear triangle stiffness, the diameter of all front triangle tubes were maximized in order to add a more compact design, which, in turn, increases the frame’s torsional stiffness.

Also featured by the frame is a 160mm rear post mount and a new style DW-Link, which comes with a broader double row bearing placement. With its carbon fiber experience, Pivot Cycles takes pride in the release of the 2012 Pivot Mach 5.7 Carbon Fiber Mountain Bike as its first one.
