Felt Bicycles has upgraded its lineup of mountain bikes for 2012. Compared to the Edict line introduced in 2011, the 2012 LTD Pro versions are still similar featuring 2×10 drivetrains. Using UHC Ultimate plus Nano mix, the Edict LTD will be nicely kitted with a Fox 32 F100 FIT Remote fork and RP23 Boost Valve rear shock.

Offering a full XTR bike, the Virtue line has an added LTD model.

With an upgraded construction, the Nine Team has an added weight to its frame with approximately 30g. A considerable amount of durability is added to the frame as well. Moreover, the 2012 Nine Team, which will cost a little more, features a full SRAM XO 2×10 drivetrain and RockShox SID.

Another impressive offer of the 2012 Felt Mountain Bikes Nine lineup is an alloy race bike called Race. The Race weighs approximately 11kg.

2011 Felt Breed, F15X, F75X Cyclocross Bikes

The 2011 Breed for singlespeed, was only relaunched for 2011 but did not undergo any changes. Felt’s brand manager Dave Koesel felt that it was a great model as it is. “Why mess with a good thing?” said Koesel. The 2011 Felt Breed will retail for $949 for its singlespeed design, aluminum frame, Tektro brakes and stainless steel inserts in rear dropouts. The bike will come with a BeerNuts tool. The color scheme is black and Belgian blue.

The Felt F15X features a new BB30 shell and modified chainstays. It has a Easton fork, replaced the SRAM S500 crank to the carbon S900 and TRP brakes. The retail price for the F15X is $2799 with SRAM Red components. It comes in the color of Liquid gray and black.

2011 Felt F1 Road Bike

2011 felt f1 300x225   2011 Felt F1 Road BikeFelt F1 in 2011 meant several changes from the 2010 model. It welcomes the BB30 bottom bracket shell and new proprietary removable polyurethane bladders. The F1 frame is made from a special carbon fiber material which features no fillers for its tubes. It also has molded hollow carbon fiber dropouts.

From 900g, the 2011 Felt F1 now weighs at 800g in a 56cm frame. It also features a fork with tapered steerer.

The F1 also highlights modified tubes which shows varying shapes. Top tubes and down tubes are shaped like a square as it is found at the head tube. However, the top tube becomes round towards the area where it connects to the seat tube. As for the down tube, it is round on its midsection and then reverts back to the square-like share at the bottom bracket area.

Aside from the F1, Felt also upgraded the DA for 2011. Engineered with the help of new computer technology with the goal to come up with a faster and stiffer TT and triathlon bike, the DA for 2011 seems to fit the bill.

The 2011 DA features V-brakes for better aerodynamics, BB30 bottom bracket shell and a frame which has 25% more surface area than the 2010 model. Even with this notable change, the 2011 DA is only 2% heavier.

Felt claims that the new DA is 14% faster and 13% stiffer than its predecessor. It features S-Bend down tube as well as lipped seat tube for maximum performance. It also has a Bayonet 3 headtube and fork at 35mm. Currently, Felt makes use of 3/4″ bearings.

2011 Felt Nine 29er Hardtail

2011 felt nine 1 300x200   2011 Felt Nine 29er Hardtail Felt reveals a new set of 29er hardtails for 2011. The 2011 Felt Nine Elite has Monocoque carbon fiber frame with Shimano SLX components. It features blue powder-coated spokes.

The Felt Nine Trail complete has a frame which weighs 4.1lbs and gets a similar make with the Nine LTD carbon hardtail. It has a longer travel fork than its race siblings. It has Tektro disc brakes and Shimano Acera/Alivio components. The Nine Trail retails at $599.

The 2011 Nine LTD has a UHC Nano carbon fiber frame which weighs 2.4lbs. Don’t be deceived by its feather-light weight because this frame is engineered to provide excellent performance. The Nine LTD frame retails at $2299.

2011 Felt Virtue

2011 felt virtue 1 300x200   2011 Felt VirtueFor 2011, Felt offers the Virtue LTD for all-mountain riders. It has a five-inch travel and features a Monocoque construction which leaves you with a 5.5 pound frame with shock. The 2011 Felt Virtue also comes with a carbon chain-drop protector.

The one-bolt rear-travel is adjustable from 120mm to 130mm. All models in the Virtue line will sport a 1 1/8” to 1 1/12” tapered headtubes. For the aluminum models in the line, they feature a new hydroformed construction. The Equilink bearings are now replaced by DU bearings.

The 2011 Edict features a four inch travel carbon fiber frame. It features the Felt Active Suspension Technology (FAST) and weighs only 4.4 pounds.

The Edict no longer has the Equilink suspension design and has a single pivot design on the seat stays. This indicates you won’t need a rear pivot at the dropouts. Chainstay and seat stays are molded as one for increased efficiency. The Felt bikes will have internal cable routing with finishing details like tornado top caps.

The Edict LTD comes with the SRAM XX drivetrain, UHC Ultimate and Nano carbon frame. It also has a RockShox SAID XX World Cuop 100mm fork at a price of $8999 and weighs 21.1lbs. The Edict Pro is equipped with Shimano Deore XT drivetrain and will retail for $5499.
