Sunn relaunches its downhill race bike Radical for 2011 with 200mm of travel. Keeping its rocker link/connecting rod concept, the Radical now comes with a steel rear triangle, making the most of the compression and performance the modified frame offers.

The 2011 Radical now has a tapered headtube of 1 1/8″-1 1/2″ for added strength to the aluminum front end. For more options on the rear suspensions, there’s also a new extension on the steel rear. As for plushness, the force of impact will not affect the speed due to the elastic quality of steel. This allows Sunn to create thinner tube sections that handles well as a whole and gives better traction while keeping in line with the aluminum weight.

The 2010 Sea Otter Classic Dual Slalom and Downhill events come to a close with pre-race favorites bagging the win in pro gravity racing.

Saturday’s race had first-place qualifier Brian Lopes took to a crash and Josh Bryceland who was 32nd qualifier also had a slip-up and this led to elimination from the race. Aaron Gwin was in the running for first place but Hannah overtook Gwin’s lead during the sprint section of the course.

The women’s event was also full of action which led to Kintner’s win; Rachel Atherton came at a close second and Sabrina Jonnier at third place.

Jared Graves took first place in the Downhill event for men, riding the same 4x bike on which he placed fourth in Dual Slalom. Gwin finished second to his teammate, making him take home the silver twice for the weekend event. Lopes makes a comeback to finish at third place while Hannah…
