Alpe d’Huez is a formidable climb that’s been used as a stage finish in the Tour de France over the last several decades, and Brooklyn artist Dan Funferburgh’s inspiration in his collaboration with Brooks England. The Alpe d’Huez is featured in Funferburgh’s work through embossed leather that takes on the Brooks classic shape over chromium plated steel. Coming in at 550g, the saddle comes in three different colors, Black, Brown, and Honey.
Aside form his collaboration with Brooks, Funferburgh’s art can be viewed in more places than just on a bike such as Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum and the Miami Museum of Modern Art. Funferburgh has done other bike related art, sharing his love for the bicycles.
Like most of Brooks’ saddles, you can expect to pay a premium dollar, $195.
