Chumba Racing introduces two new mountain bikes for 2011, the HX1, a traditional 26 inch hardtail, and the HX2 29er.
Both the HX1 and HX2 use some of the same features, like a double butted 6061 T6 aluminum tubeset, U-shaped chainstay, bottom bracket easily adaptable for single speed, and a tapered zero stack headtube.
The difference between the HX1 and HX2 is HX1 uses a 140mm of travel fork and 68 degree head angle. The HX2 was created to work with a 100mm fork.
In January 2011, you can purchase the HX1 and HX2 with “Rolling Chassis Kits”. The Rolling chassis kits come with Thompson components, Hope wheelset, and Fox forks. Both MTBs are available in anodized silver, anodized black and powder coated white. Retail price is roughly $630 USD.
