The 2011 Garmin-Cervelo kit has been introduced by Slipstream Sports, LLC. It includes many changes from the previous Garmin kits. The major overhaul involves two of its trademarks: orange panels and argyle sections. The orange panels are no longer in the design while the argyle sections were drastically minimized and relocated to the collar and left cuffs of the shorts and jersey.
Castelli, who also designed Cervélo’s 2010 kit, designed the 2011 kit predominately black and blue. The innovative Italian apparel manufacturer mixed the features of Garmin on the front and Cervélo’s ‘é’ on the back. He had issues with Pearl Izumi, the maker of the Garmin-Transitions 2010 kit, who sued Garmin over intellectual property infringement that involves winged skin suits.
The newly overhauled kits will be showcased for the first time in Australia’s Jayco Bay Cycling Classic. A complete package of Garmin-Cervélo apparel will be provided for competing riders….
Touted to be the most copied bike in triathlon/time trial history, the Cervelo P3 Ultegra features aerodynamic specs with a Shimano Ultegra chain, cassette, and front and rear derailleur. Taking the lead from Cervelo’s P2, the P3 Ultegra has the 3T Funda Pro aero fork with a curved seattube. The seattube now encompasses most of the rearwheel for better aerodynamics. The P3 also features a monostay design, allowing the seatstay to blend in with the main tube.
The Vision stem, base bar, clip on and brake levers are made from sturdy, lightweight aluminum. It uses Dura Ace shifters with FSA Gossamer Pro for front and rear brake calipers. As for the crankset, the P3 plays host to FSA Gossamer MegaExo. The P3 is 150g lighter than the P2, too.
Internal CableStop or ICS is another feature on the P3, which simply means how internal cable routing can decrease air drag as…
Although the spotlight at Cervelo during Interbike was the R5ca, the R3 was also noted due to some changes that gives this road bike the same rigidity as with the R5ca but at a lower cost. The 2011 R3 has a tapered headtube, new tube shape and BBright which is an oversized bottom bracket. The BB shell is 79mm wide with internal press-in bearings. It uses 30mm cranks and BB style aluminum spindle which must be 11mm wide.
The geometry and fit for the R3 has been modified which makes the stack and reach of the bike directly proportional to the frame size. It is also longer and lower than what most people would prefer. Cervelo product manager Chris Bastie further points out, “If you ride a 58cm R3 now, you’ll fit the exact same frame size in a 2011 R3.”

After two years of studying and crafting, Project California has finalized its new bike frames. Phil White and engineer Don Guichard were ready to show off their initial results after the Tour of California. The R5ca or California as it is called, is Cervélo’s latest creation, an ultra-light steed that weighs as little as 680 grams including the hardware.
The makers of this frame are planning to produce 300 of these this year making it sort of limited edition. With a tag price of $9,800 for this frame, it also comes with a fork, headset, zero-offset seatpost and a bundled Rotor crankset (they are not as bad they look). But the facility does not only aim on selling frames, they are also designing, testing and analyzing each product that they fabricate.
The frame is made of 350 different plies of carbon that took about 90 minutes just to cut. With a…
If the Cervelo T3 track frame is a bit too expensive for you, the company has made available the Cervelo T1 Track Frame for 2010, unlike the T3 which is carbon fiber, the T1 is constructed with aluminum. The Cervelo T1 2010 Track Frame uses low drag TrueAero tubing with Smartwall butting to increase rigidity, offering a overall stiff frame. Comparing the T3 to the T1 both do not feature cable guides or bottle cage bosses, but have horizontal dropouts. Available for about $1,595 USD, which you will receive the Cervelo T1 2010 frameset, FK24 fork, aero carbon headset and seatpost, sizes are 51, 54, 56, and 58cm. Releasing January 2010.

31-year-old Spanish cyclist Xavier Tondo has signed with Cervelo for the 2010 season, joining five other Spaniards. Tondo has reportedly been linked to a deal with Astana, but Canadian-backed, Swiss-based Cervelo has confirmed Tondo’s signing. “It’s a dream come true. My principal goal for 2010 is to help Carlos Sastre in the mountains,” says Tondo. Tondo has a pretty impressive resume, winning the 2008 Tour of Portugul and the opening prologue of the Ruta del Sol. He was forced to withdraw from the Vuelta a Espana due to tendinitis. “We are pleased to sign Xavier because we are convinced that he can adapt perfectly to our team. Despite being 31, we are convinced that he can get even better. He had a great 2009 season, with six top-10s in weeklong stage races. He’s also very enthusiastic about how technology can be applied to the…
