HTC-Columbia’s Maxime Monfort finished safely in the peloton to take the overall title in the Bayern Rundfahrt road race in Germany.
Monfort who took the lead after winning the previous days time trial, topped the final general classification ahead of Italy’s Adriano Malori and Slovenian Simon Spilak, both riding for the Lampre team.
The stage was won by Marcin Sapa (Lampre) who outsprinted breakaway companion, Australia’s Travis Meyer (Garmin-Transitions).
Monfort, earlier in the time trial days before the race, was on the top of the general classification taking the lead over Adriano Malori of Italy and Slovenian Simon Spilak both of Lampre team.
Sapa (Lampre) took the stage race from fellow breakaway companion Travis Meyer (Garmin-Transitions) of Australia.
