Niner ushers in the first tapered headtube on a 29er with the 2011 W.F.O.9. Wide Full Open comes with a 5.5″ CVA suspension (Constantly Varying Arc), hydroformed tubing and options of 135 or 150mm rear spacing.

The CVA suspension design is to accomplish a bike that has a wheel dialed in on the different arcs it runs with, making it pedal neutral as well as brake neutral. The Niner W.F. O.9 keeps its gear in tune with each other so as not to affect the performance of the suspension.

The downtube’s S-bend gives way to an ISCG mount that makes the W.F.O.9 Hammerschmidt compatible. As for the shock, it is coil or piggyback compatible.

The 2011 W.F. O.9 has two options for build kits. A Shimano XT kit has a MSRP of $2678 while the SLX is priced at $2299. The frame retails for $1899 (135mm) and $2099 (150mm).

The Titatnium XC 29er from On-One debuts with features like “Swapouts” and a 3-2, 5 titanium frame. The “Swapouts” are options so you can make a switch from singlespeed to geared. It also has a strong sloping top tube and uses a 73mm bottom bracket shell.

The 29er bike comes in short or long travel. The long travel fork measures 120mm. A large bottom bearing and tapered headtube delivers less headset flex.

Additional details on the ti bike are On-One segmented seat stays, tire clearance for 2.2″x29 inch tires, tubeless and tubeless ready carbon rims from On-One. It also has 1 1/8” headset and ISCG05 chainguide mounting.

The chainstay length is 444mm and the ti 29er bike will come in 4 sizes. Since On-One aims for performance and value, the titanium XC 29er retails at around $1289. It will be available in April 2011….

The FL Carbon 29er fork from Syncros stands out with its 100% carbon construction and monocoque crown. Veering away from the idea of a shorter fork and more offset, the FL Carbon 29er has 38mm offset with a 485mm axle to crown measurement.

S. Coffey, marketing director for Syncros ellaborates on the fork’s design, “We have dabbled with various offsets, lengths and frames with mixed results. In our ride testing we found that a 480mm/38mm offset obviously works fine on ubiquitous “old school” geometry, and despite the math, still works really well on “new school” bikes.”

Additional details for the new carbon fork are full carbon dropouts and disc only brakes. It has 34mm blades and a maximum rotor size of 203mm.

The Syncros FL Carbon 29er fork has a round cross section, legs, steerer, crown and dropouts. It has a tire clearance of 90mm to accommodate 2.5″ tires. Weight is at 580g…

Salsa Cycles introduces its newest full suspension platform, the Spearfish. This model is designed for endurance racing long rides. The frame is shaped with hydroformed EV6 tubing and can fit tires up to 2.25 inches. The weight for the Spearfish comes just under 6lbs even for a 29er frame.

The frame also optimizes 100mm travel for the front fork and 80mm travel for the rear. It features a tapered headtube, press-fit BB30 bottom bracket and can fit 3×9 or 2×10 speed drivetrains.

Salsa Cycles releases the 2011 Spearfish with MSRP of $999 for the frame and $2250 for a complete build with RockShox Reba fork, tubeless rims and SRAM X7/X9 components. Availability will be in December.
