The 2011 Look 695 race road bike is what the Cofidis team is riding on at the Tour de France. The new road bike offers its monocoque frame in the 695 SR (Super Rigid) and the 695. The first model puts stiffness above comfort while the latter model frame is 15% compliant.

Look used the Continuous Fiber Design to make the bike more efficient for you. The downtube, chainstays and seat tube are wrapped around the oversized bottom bracket casing with 65mm cartridge sealed bearings. The frame now weighs 900g, approximately 9% lighter than the 595.

The 695 can be equipped by all pedal systems but it already comes with Look’s Keo Blade pedals. It can also be spec’d with Zed 2 crankset’s crankarms, axis and star which are fused into one carbon piece. The crank length is also adjustable to 170, 172.5 or 175mm. the 695 can also…

The Stumpjumper line for Specialized this 2011 underwent some changes. The Stumpjumper FSR 26” will no longer have the Brain feature and the S-Works models will have Roval Control SL wheels with carbon rims like the Epic line. It will also feature 2×10 drivetrains. The Specialized Stumpjumper S-Works 29er carbon frame weighs 1,055 grams while the 26” model weighs 920 grams.

For middle and high-end models, Specialized incorporates 90mm travel Future Shock with dropouts that are good to go with the OS28 end caps. This results to stiffer wheels and sturdy rides. These wheels can fit RockShox and Specialized forks. 15QR caps are offered for the front wheel while the rear will get standard 135mm choices.

This includes the TCX and the TCX Advanced SL composite bike. The TCX Advanced SL uses Shimano Dura-Ace, FSA and Giant components and will retail for $6,700.00.

The new frameset uses Giant’s Advanced SL composite material. From the raw T-800 carbon fiber, the C-Tech composite material is infused, resulting to a stiff frame, much like those used by Rabobank road professional riders.

The TCX Advanced SL has smaller diameter tubes but after applying the Finite Element Analysis (FEA), the product is a bike which can be handled easily and is more compliant to the rigors of cyclocross. It also has the integrated seatpost, overdrive headtube and fork steerer. Bearings are at 1-1/8 inch top and 1-1/4 inch bottom.

Giant comes out with at 29er for its Trance X model this 2011. The Trance X 29er retains its 100mm travel front and rear like its predecessor. It has Powercore press fit bottom bracket that allows for 2×10 or 3×10 setups. Lighter by 75 grams, the Trance X 29er has a Fox F-125mm fork which functions to create a balance for its 127mm rear travel.

The 2011 Trance X 29er allows for a 2.3” rear tire compatibility. The frame claims to have increased in stiffness by 4 percent. It also comes with a Fox Float RP23 rear shock. It weighs 2,395 grams.

Finally, the 2011 Trance X 29er has head tube angles of ½ degree slacker and cable stops should you run a remote drop post.

Giant Factory Off-road team rider Kelli Emmett, helped in the product development by giving valuable input to make the TCX W a shoo-in for women cyclocross. The TCX W will be release on August 2010 at a retail price of $1,650.00.

Abby Cooper, product developer, explains how the new frame came to be. “Everyone knows that women generally have different proportions than men. So the goal was to address women’s unique needs and provide them with a ’cross bike that would improve their experience whether they’re racing or just riding a mix of road and dirt.”

ridley dean rs 2011 300x200   Ridley Dean RS 2011Ridley introduces the Dean RS for 2011 as a middle ground for its current bike models which includes an aluminum triathlon bike for $2,000 and a high end bike called the Dean for $5,000 or so. The Dean RS has a price tag of $3,000 for a carbon bike with conservative triathlon-aimed geometry. The Dean RS would be marketed to meet the needs of triathletes and for cyclists who likes riding in an upright position.

To be available in March 2011, the new Ridley bike has forks which feature the X-Stream. This allows the fork to redirect airflow away from the spinning wheel. The overall look is similar to the Dean. With round seatstays and vertical dropouts, the Dean RS has five sizes you can choose from. It has a Profile Design T2+ aerobars to lift the rider more upright when cycling.

The Blue Axino 2011 has a tapered headtube with cable housing. The cables go through the carbon tubes inside the frame. The rear brake housing is tucked forward to avoid brushing against your knee. It has a BB30 bottom bracket that has the Direct Drive technology; The one-piece bottom bracket and chainstay structure is not easily dislodged because of it.

The 2011 Axino Road Bike comes with the Aerus carbon seatpost, handlebars and alloy stem. It has a water bottle, carbon cage and Prologo saddle. The frameset retails for $2100.
