Trek’s famous Downhill bike, the Session 88 is back for 2011 with some interesting changes.

2011 Trek Session 88 DH uses a new downtube armor and new hyrdroforming design. As well, the 2011 Session 88 DH will have integrated fork bumpers and a new graphic design. A strengthening plate has been placed between the seat tube and top tube.

Trek has added a minnow link system which will set the steering angle and height bracket. More info like MSRP and specs coming soon.

Trek World is coming, and they have showcased one of the bikes that is a prototype for now, the Broadsider. Inspiration for the 2011 Trek Broadsider came from a comic book.

The comic book follows Max Malco, a legendary cliff racer that lost his life trying to save a young boy from his rivals. The bike and story was made from Trek’s industrial design group, and as of now the Broadsider is a prototype. Said by Trek “(Broadsider) project intended to keep the Trek brain trust sharp”.

Still, the Trek 2011 Broadsider takes on a vintage/tarnished look, and as of now it is not known if it will release.

This is ideal for people who wants to experience the thrill of the trail but are also looking to use the same bike for commuting. The line has two models, the Karakoram 1.0 and the Karakoram 2.0. Both models carry the Triple Triangle design of alloy constructed frames with integrated headsets.

The GT Karakoram 1.0 retails for £799.99. It has Kenda small Block Eight tires and Shimano hydraulic brakes. It uses a combination of Shimano Octalink chainset and SRAM X7 for shifters. It has 100mm travel RockShox Recon Solo Air fork.

The 2011 Karakoram 2.0 is more affordable at £649.99. It features Kenda Nevegal tires, Shimano Deore mixed with FSA Dyna Drive shifting kit, Shimano Alivio 9spd and Tektri Aquila cable disc brakes. It uses a RockShox Dart 3 fork.

It will be available in January to February 2011. The TR250 frame weighs 0.7 lbs and will come with Fox DHX RC4 shock. Transition has made the TR250 to be more compact and more sensitive frame which will cater to riders itchin’ to bring it on jump trails, DH courses and bike parks.

The 2011 TR250 comes with a longer wheelbase for high speed racing and shorter rear end for jump trails. It has an adjustable travel from 160mm to 180mm. It retains adjustable geometry like that of the TR450 on the head angle and BB height. It comes with a single crown fork and adjustable chainstay/wheelbase care of the dropout.

Mongoose tags the Salvo at about $1300 but gives you a sweet ride with a lighter front triangle and the use of a floating suspension system.

The new frame platform for the Salvo highlights the floating suspension which makes the setup of shocks easy to do and even promotes longer life of the shock. This also takes a chunk of the force your frame normally receives.

The 2011 Mongoose Salvo has water bottle mounting and adjustable 95-120mm travel. The adjustment can be done with a quick release lever which you can move to 95mm and this will stiffen the rear end. The Zaskar line consists of the Zaskar Sport, Zaskar Comp, Zaskar Elite, Zaskar Expert, Zaskar Carbon Pro and the Zaskar Carbon Team. All Zaskar models retain the Triple Triangle detailing, internal cable routing and a 1.5″ to 1.125″ tapered headtube. A 29er model is also a first for Zaskar which can be purchased in carbon or a aluminum frame. It also features replaceable interchangeable dropouts if you want it for singlespeed.

The 2011 Zaskar Sport retails at £799.99 and is spec’d with Shimano Deore, disc brakes, Allterra finishing kit and SR Raidon Air fork. The Zaskar Comp has a hydroformed 6061 T6 alloy frame and will retail for £999.99.

A little treat for Cyclocross fans, here is a look at the 2011 Redline Conquest and Conquest Pro.

The Redline 2011 Conquest will now com equipped with a carbon fiber fork, this of course is the lighten the front, and for a smoother ride. Another addition is the Kore Gradient II wheels, and Kenda small black 8 tires. Other features are Kore Race+ brakes, Shimano Tiagra 9 speed levers, and 105 rear derailleur. You can also purchase the 2011 Redline Conquest as a frameset. Wighing in at 20.11 pounds, with a MSRP OF $1299.00.

A bit pricier, and on the lighter side is the 2011 Redline Conquest Pro. Upgrades are integrated headset, and BB30 bottom bracket. The tighter rear plus the other upgrades adds faster handling.
