Dubbed to be the lightest carbon hardtail, the Scott Scale 899 comes in just under 900g (899g), lighter and stiffer than the previous Scale bike from Scott. Several changes for 2011 include a taller tapered headtube by 5mm, lower bottom bracket height by 10mm and a new Shock Damping System for rear stays, which was used on the Scott CR1 model.

Other features for the 2011 Scott Scale 899 are disc mounts, integrated seat clamp and one-piece SDS chainstays and seatstays. It also has carbon dropouts and an improved integrated molding process or IMP. This resulted in combining the top tube, downtube and headtube molded into one. This meant having less carbon material on the inside of the frame.

The 2011 Scott Scale 899 also has a standard press-fit bottom bracket with options of BB30 or BB92.

Rolf Prima has not been known to make a lot of waves in the bike world, but it must not be taken for granted. Coming out in 2011 are the Rolf Prima TT85 and the TDF deep section carbon tubular wheels. The TT85 weighs 1685gms and Tdf 85 weighs 1695gms each pair respectively. The two deep-section wheelsets have a cost price of $2200 per pair.

In addition to these new releases, Rolf Prima upgraded the Tdf 58 with 16 spokes to the front and 16 at the rear for added stiffness. To complete its expanded range of paired spokes for 2011, it…

Gran Royale‘s new fixed tailored towards street riding for 2011 is the Creeper. The Creeper is your traditional beginner fixed.

After the first year of Gran Royale’s launch, the brand, a branch off of Eastern Bikes, has grown with popularity due to their reasonably priced products. With the success Gran Royale has seen, the 2011 Creeper should shine.

The 2011 Gran Royal Creeper features a Hi-Tensile 1020 steel frame and tubular 100% 4130 chromoly fork with enough clearance for barspins. The steel construction of the Creeper will definitely take a thrashing.

Like previously said, the 2011 Creeper is your beginner fixie, but will still use components like higher end models. Some worth mentioning are the high flange hubs, sealed bearings, and integrated head tube.

If you get tired of riding fixed and just want to cruise the streets, a flip flop hub has been added for freewheel riding. …

Founder Jason Schiers explains how the DH idea came to be, “We have been spending a lot of time with guys riding downhill, four-cross and jump bikes and the growing theme has been wider is better . . . So the introduction of a 800mm bar addresses the width needs of anyone.”

When asked about the material used for the DH bar, Schiers adds, “Carbon on dirt still presents a formidable challenge to overcome, but as with all of the products we make, we expect that durability in addition to ride quality is a given.”

On what is in store for Enve in the years to come, Schiers further says, “2010…
