For 2011, Sidi introduces the Ergo 2 Carbon Lite shoe together with the SDS Nevada, SDS Sierra and the Dominator 5. The Ergo 2 has one of the lightest soles with its Aeronet Lite carbon material. Added features like a Lorica microfiber upper, caliper buckle and Sidi’s Techno II buckle system makes it breathable yet strong enough to withstand the toughest of conditions. A limited edition of bronze and silver are available for 2011.

SDS stands for Sidi Design Series. The shoes under this collection are made in China with a three-strap velcro closure system although the women versions are not yet available until 2012. For road cycling, the SDS Nevada has a fiberglass reinforced nylon sole and a TPU shaped heel cup with reflective inserts on the back over the heel of the shoe.

Valdora just launched its 2011 line of triathlon/time trial bikes. The models released are the PHX, PHX-1 and PHX-2.

Valdora offers SRAM Apex, Rival, Force and Red groupsets and a full carbon wheelset upgrade.

The 2011 Valdora PHX series frames are made to absorb vibrations that it endures and to be free of flex. Valdora placed thin tubes that are deep and aero running from the head tube to the seat stays. The top tube features additional stiffness due to its vertical depth.

Valdora added “finger” adjustable screws on the horizontal drop outs for easy axle wheel adjusting.

Full carbon V-1 aero forks are used to help reduce wind resistance, while only weighing 380 grams.

Dahon Biologic releases a new product for the iPhone 4, the Bike Mount. The polycarbonate case is actually an upgraded version of the existing Bike Mount but with modifications to accommodate the iPhone 4.

The Bike Mount is used to hold the iPhone 4 on the bike’s handlebars, allowing the rider to navigate the iPhone 4 with ease and convenience.

A RidgeSeal case turns the Bike Mount into a durable phone holder that can take on all types of elements found outside. A welded touch sensitive film protects the iPhone 4 when in use. To make it resistant to shock, a silicone lining was also implemented on the inside of the case.

Similar to the last Bike Mount, the iPhone 4 version can pivot for a wider landscape or portrait mode. The membrane also protects the iPhone 4′s camera lens.

NS Bikes improved its Analog model for 2011 with a few modifications based on customer feedback. The new Analog promises that it will handle better than the 2010 model with its raised bottom bracket and revised geometry.

To improve the standover, NS Bikes lowered the top tube and increased the length of the dropouts, making it a bit longer and with added machining. The 2011 Analog also has an integrated seat clamp, shorter chainstays and a modified fork.

The Analog fork comes in lighter with 5mm thick dropouts and 410mm axle to crown. It has machining on the steer tube, better dropout interface and a powder coated paint job.

Orbea makes its mark in all-mountain and enduro with the 2011 Rallon 30. Made from hydroformed Tricone aluminum, the Rallon 30 aims to be the benchmark in its field on design, sealed bearings and performance.

The Rallon 30 is a result of the application of Advance Dynamics technology. This is a computer-based program that simulates the performance of dual suspension bikes. From here, Orbea and CEIT (Guipuzcoa Studies and Technical Research Centre) can take the data and use it to create a bike that is optimized in its suspension platform, travel, damper and sealed bearings.

With a tapered headtube, tapered Fox Talas fork, and an enduro-specific geometry, the Rallon 30 gets fine tuned. Long seat tubes, replaceable dropouts, short 17.2″ chainstays and a Fox RP23 boost valve shock with XV air canister are added to ensure that it is capable to handle descents, climbs and everything else in between.
