The UCI Mountain Bike Race 2010 is just around the corner. In time with other worldwide events, 107 teams have registered and joined this year’s international competition.

The Pro XCT (Professional Mountain Bike Cross Country Tour) will begin on March 27. The first round will be in Fontana, California.

Your team is required to register first to have the tabulation of points accumulated for PRO XCT TEAM Rankings. Domestic pro teams are urged to do this to garner more points. The points can only be counted once the team is registered and this will take place on the next leg of the race after the registration.

From France, there are a total of 15 teams joining the race. 14 Italian teams will be there as well. The third highest number of UCI teams is 12 squads from the United States.

The US National Ultra Endurance Series 2010 (NUE) sponsored by Kenda, will begin on April 24, 2010. 2009 NUE series champs were Betsy Shrogen and Jeff Schalk. The 100-mile mountain bike races will kick off at Cohutta 100 in Tennessee. The series is composed of eight 100 mile races and will end on September 5 at the Shenandoah Mountain 100.

Replacing the Sierra-Tahoe 100 of last year’s event is the High Cascades 100 in Oregon. Co-organizer, Ryan O’Dell expresses his excitement over this new move. Oregon will get to have its virgin run on August 7, 2010.

Scheduled to run the same way as 2009, the US National Ultra Endurance Series will close with a bang on Labor day weekend at the Shenandoah Mountain 100 race. This is also where the tiebreaker race will take place based on the best four events score by racers.

Professional Mountain Bike Gravity Tour will give you two UCI events and five races in four states to celebrate its second year in US Cycling. The races will take place from April to September 2010 with the starting line at Port Angeles, Washington.

The Professional Gravity Race Tour is a downhill series of races. From its kick off point, it will take you to the opposite coast for the Plattekill Gravity Open in Roxbury Hill Bike Park, New York. Sometime halfway through the course, upon reaching California, the bikers will race at Northstar at Tahoe event in Truckee. The series will proceed to Winter Park, Colorado for the Trestle Bike Park and finish once again with the Whiteface 5th Annual Downhill races in Lake Placid, New York.

Colony BMX released two new colors of their popular Descendent and Endeavour 2010 bikes, and we must admit the colors are appealing. If you are located in Australia, you might of had the chance to check the Colony BMX Descendent and Endeavour 2010 out at a local Colony retailer, but if you live elsewhere then you will have a week or so to wait. A new mountain bike is at the forefront for Bianchi. It unveils the Methanol SL Team Edition, the flag bearer for their 2010 MTB collection. To be used by the TX Active Bianchi Team this season, the bike comes in special colour schemes of blue that complements the jerseys used by the riders, as well as the San Marco saddles and Magura brakes.

The Bianchi Methanol SL Team Edition offers improved features by its ERC (embedded Reinforcement Construction) design that minimizes frame twisting and optimizes control. The carbon monocoque frame aims to be efficient, lightweight and sturdy. This led to the manufacturing components of the frame to be a mix from three differenet high modulus fibers. These are Toray 40T, 30T and T700. From them, the Triple Wall Tube (TWT) was made and incorporated into the frame.

First images that hit the net of the Saracen Ariel 2010 were prototypes, but we have a snap shot of the finish product. The Saracen Ariel 2010 Mountain Bike is used for trails, plus features 140mm of travel. Featuring CNC machined linkage, helping the bike become lighter and yet stiff, tapered head tube, and Fox front and rear suspension. Pictured above is the top of the line Saracen Ariel 2010 Mountain Bike, known as the Ariel 3. This particular model uses a Shimano XT drivetrain, Syncros DS28 rims, Maxxis Larsen TT high roller tires, and Race face evolve chainset. Retail price is around $4,000 USD.
