The rumors can now cease of Volume releasing a new fixed gear frame for 2010, the model is called the Thrasher. Although we only have a small preview, the excitement is boiling for many. Pictured is a sample version of the Volume Thrasher 2010 Fixed Gear Frame, and testing them are Mosher, Congo, Puckett, and Fonseca. One of the main goals achieved on the Volume Thrasher 2010 is more tire clearance, and remove the tire overlap. Production date is still far away, so Volume is leaking information a little at a time.

Cadel Evans, from Australia, has announced that he will be starting the Tour Down Under with his new team, BMC. US cyclist George Hincapie will be riding alongside Evans, confirms BMC. Mike Turtur, race director, is pleased with Evans’ return to the event, and says his return to the Australian race is a huge boost to the event. “It is great for the race and for Australian cycling fans that Cadel will be returning to ride at the Tour Down Under,” he says. “Evans brings a wealth of experience in the grand tours to his new team and now as world champion he’ll be primed and ready for the challenges of the 2010 cycling season,” he adds. Despite rumors of retirement, Oscar Freire is sticking around for the 2010 season. The three-time world champion will be back with Rabobank, and is going to start the Ruta del Sol in February in Spain. Freire does not seem to be hindered by the fact that he was shot by an air rifle during stage 13 of the 2009 Tour de France. Freire will be starting in the number one spot for the five-day Spanish race. He has won the Ruta del Sol in 2007, and has raced in it eight times. Yesterday, we brought you the word that fourth-place Tour de France rider Bradley Wiggins may be signing to team Sky, the UK’s first ProTour team. Today, we now know its official. He had one year left on his contract with Garmin-Transitions, but team Sky bought them out with the help of sponsorship from Rupert Murdoch’s British satellite TV network. “It has been an amazing year for me and my ride at the Tour has given me the drive to aim even higher. I know I can continue to develop and Team Sky is the perfect place to make that happen,” Wiggins says. The 29-year-old held a press conference at Sky TV Studios in London to announce that he had signed a four-year deal with Britain’s first ProTour team.
