Though best known for creating topnotch mountain bikes for a decade now, Whyte Bikes is introducing three cyclocross bikes for 2012 that use mechanical disc brakes. One of the three bikes is for racing while the other two, which include the King Cross, are for commuting and are less expensive.
Designed to tackle longer distances, the King Cross can also be taken off-road with much ease. It is built from a multi-butted and custom-drawn 6061 hydroformed frame with front triangle butted tubes and S-shaped seatstays. Most of its specs are Sora-based.
As a highly versatile do-it-all machine, the 2012 Whyte Bikes King Cross Disc Brake Cyclocross Bike can tackle any local paths or parks. Most of the features of the King Cross are similar to the racing model only less trail-specific and they have a little different geometry.
