Mavic reveals its Special Service Course line for 2011. The SSC Line is made up of the Cosmic Carbone 80, Cosmic Carbone SLR, R-Sys SLR and the Ksyrium SLR. The SSC line was intended for Mavic’s high-end wheels. Mavic has a new rim treatment called Exalith which gives the rim a wear-proof finish and will require a special brake compound.
The R-Sys SLR is designed to cater sportive and gran fondo riders. It features redesigned spokes with multi-directional fiber. It also has new Exalith rims for the front and rear. It is available in tubular or clincher versions. The R-Sys SLR tubular weighs 1955 grams and retails at $2080. The clincher version weighs 1994 grams and is priced at $2000.
The Ksyrium SLR also comes in clincher or tubular versions. It also uses Exalith rims. The clincher version retails at $1800 while the tubular version has a tag price of $1880.

For 2011, Kestrel Bicycles unveils the Kestrel 4000 LTD at this year’s Eurobike. There will only be 100 bicycles made of this red/white model. The Kestrel 4000 Pro will be available next spring.
The 2011 Kestrel 4000 comes with Shimano Di2 electronic shifting and weighs 19.3lbs. It has a tapered headset which is integrated 1 1/8″-1 1/4″ and 10mm carbon top cover with cable stop. It also has an integrated BB30 bottom bracket shell.
This limited edition triathlon bike is spec’d with Oval parts like the Oval TT saddle, Oval 901 Tri bar, Oval 985 front clincher and Oval 999 rear wheelset.
It uses Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX Foldable tires, carbon levers and Kestrel EVA Foam with Gel for grips. The Kestrel 4000 has a 800 K Hi-modulus carbon frame with replaceable dropouts, making this slightly stiffer than previous models.

Hoffman Bikes popular Strowler flatland frame is back for 2011 in two colors, blue and copper.
The 2011 Hoffman Strowler frame dimensions are identical to 2010 (18.9″ and 19.75″), including the curved down tube. 1970s/80s style graphics are applied, which have a gradient effect starting from purple and ending to yellow.

Comparing the Raleigh 2011 Record Ace to the previous year, look wise not much has changed. Even the components have minor changes, but the Record Ace will still shine in 2011.

Companies continue to add more retro specific road bikes to their lines, some for urban commuting or just classic road bikes. Another addition is the Bianchi 2011 Campione.

The A23 rim alone weighs 426 grams, and the pro build (using with Sapim CX-Ray Spokes, alloy nipples) weighs 1400 grams.
