Team Milram Shines Tirreno-Adriaticos Opening Stage

Linus Gerdermann of Team Milram sped first to finish at the Tirreno-Adriatico’s opener on Wednesday. It was a 148-kilometer stage travelling from Livorno to Rosignano Solvay in Italy. Gerdermann bested Pablo Lastras of Caisss d’Epargne who came in second and Matti Breschel of Saxo Bank who got the third place.

Team Milram’s director Christian Henn proudly shares the outstanding moment for the team’s effort, “We continued to attack at the decisive moment, which made our chance for the victory possible. Linus was very attentive and won the stage for us very cleverly. All in all, it was a very hard and strenuous day for everyone in the field. The temperatures were only between three and six degrees, it rained at the start and the streets were wet the whole way.”

Dimitri Grabovsky of ISD-Neri did a one-man breakaway with 15km to go. Milram also did some attacks and counter-attacks near the finish. The team also caught up Terpstra and Urtasun when they were just over 1km to go.

Luca Paolini of Acqua & Sapone came in fourth and Tyler Farrar of Garmin-Transitions came in seventh.

Celebrity Cyclists for a Cause Sport Relief

British celebrities got off with a shaky start with their 1000 mile cycle ride for charity brought about by comedian Miranda Hart falling off resulting to an ugly cut on her leg before the fun ride began.

Hart, who starred in BBC’s sci-fi “Hyperdrive” comedy series, took a hard crash dive while the six-strong team was getting to set off from John O’Groats on the BT Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride.

She realized that the ride was much harder than she expected it to be. After putting herself together, she rode off with her teammates, TV presenters Fearne Cotton, Davina McCall and comedians David Williams, Russell Howard and Patrick Kielty.

The riders declared that the course was tough, the terrain, the weather and everything was mean and rough. Their objective was to be at Land’s End on Thursday and to be able to raise £1,000,000 for Comic Relief. The money will be to aid the defenseless and senile people of UK and likewise to some of the most impoverished countries of the world. To be one of the sponsors, visit Sportsrelief.com.
