The 2013 Giant Anthem X Advanced 29er is your mid level bike from the series, reasonably priced at $3300, especially with the component specs.

Some of the highlights on the 2013 Anthem X Advanced 29er 2 is the carbon frame, Maestro suspension, Rock Shox Reba RL fork, Rock Shox Monarch RT shock plus Sram X5 and X7 drivetrain.

Young entry-level gravity riders have something new for 2013, the Shimano Zee Group Set, which has been introduced as Saint’s little brother. This new groupset is a replacement of the Hone groupset, Shimano’s attempt to create a more affordable version of the Saint.

Named after ‘zero’, the Zee enables gravity riders to hit the extreme trails’ zero gravity without feeling restricted. Similar to the Saint, this groupset is equipped with topnotch disc brakes and the high-tech Shadow RD+ 10-speed rear derailleur, which offers downhill riders an exceptionally silent drive train.

For a balanced combination of rotating performance, stiffness, and strength, a hollow axle and solid crank arm was used. This Ice Tech compatible groupset’s brakes can be upgraded to the maximum Ice Tech braking power.

Deity showed up to the Sea Otter Classic ready with some of their Fall 2012 components. Some shown are prototypes while others are the production version.

First up from Deity is the CZ38 Special Handlebar, which is Cameron Zink’s signature model. This is a prototype that Cameron is currently testing. Constructed of 7075 T6 gradient butted aluminum, 760mm width and 38mm of rise. Weighing in at 310 grams, the bars will come in murder black, black and white, red, green and purple.

Another prototype, the Locust direct mount is made of CNC 7075 T6 aluminum, 65mm wide with an overall stiff setup. The weight is 117 grams. Upon release, the Locust Direct Mount will come in black, red, purple and green.

Deity also had a handful of seats on display, the Pinner DH, Rally I-Beam, Thimble I-Beam and Mainline DH.

Now that we have shared the 2013 Giant Anthem X Advanced 29er 0 and Womens 0, it’s time to take a step back and showcase Anthem X Advanced 29er 1.

The 2013 Giant Anthem X Advanced 29er 1 MTB uses T700 carbon in the front triangle with aluminum in the rear, which makes the 1 a first timer for carbon on a 29er.

For components, the 2013 Anthem X Advanced 29er 1 uses Maestro suspension, Rock Shox SID RL fork, Rock Shox Monarch RT shock, Sram X9 and XO drivetrain, and DT Swiss competition spokes.

Available at the end of April, retail is set at $4650.

If you walked by Norco‘s booth at the Sea Otter classic, the bright colors of the 2013 Aurum LE Downhill bike had to catch your attention, but if you didn’t make it, here is a re-cap of whats to come.

The 2013 Norco Aurum LE DH Bike shown is a prototype, so some things will change upon release. For example the production model will feature new bump stops, altered cable routing and the linkage mounted clamp will be on the seatstay.

Getting the 2013 Aurum LE at the 2012 Sea Otter Classic was to show the limited edition colorway to come. Only on the top of the line Aurum, you will have somewhat of a retro inspired theme with vibrant blue and green paint job plus black and white decals.

Releasing mid summer of this year, a price point has yet to be determined.
