Pre-Orders have now begun on the Eight Inch Scrambler V3 Frameset. The geometry on the Eight Inch Scrambler V3 is the same, but features a few changes.

The V3 Scrambler now features laser cut dropouts, while the V2 utilized a stamped dropout. Low profile cable mounts are located under the toptube, and a second gusset added for strength.

Upon purchasing the Eight Inch Scrambler V3 frameset, you will receive the frame (of course), fork, seat post, seat clamp and headset.

Eight Inch will ship the V3 Scrambler on August 20th 2010, and comes in black, white, and the newly added raw finish. For the 53cm frame only, it weighs 4.9lbs. Retail price is $169.50

Genesis showcases its 2011 collection of road bikes which features the usual steel and branding except for some few tweaks. Here’s what’s coming soon in 2011.

Alfine-equipped Day One is in its final stage on the drawing boards and is designed with a hub-geared, drop-barred cyclocross iron and a Reynolds 520 frame. It uses the Versa 8 speed integrated lever shifting for its hub and for its stopping power, the Tektro Lyra mechanical disc brakes. Its longer rack mount braze-ons give more clearance on the disc. It has a price tag of £1000.

The Vapour CX bike in matt olive finish with gloss decals is obviously attractive. It has a Tiagra drivertrain with 2300 non-series chainset and a Tektro cantis coupled with secondary levers. Kinfolk has a new collaboration with Coat, Brooks, and Kara Ginther, with each giving their own contribution. Here we have the International Bike, which was asked by Wallpaper. According to the press release, Wallpaper are avid urban cyclists that do a lot of traveling, so they needed a bike that could be broken down with ease.

For the Kinfolk International Bike, Wallpaper called in frame builders (Kinfolk), Brooks, Kara Ginther, and Coat, who came in from the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan.

In the end, we have a Kinfolk frame, Brooks saddle and bespoke bag with help from Kara Ginther, while coat did the paint job.

FBM Bike Co gave a prototype frame of the new FBM Bike Polo. FBM, known for building solid bikes for BMXers, is now stepping into the fixed gear bike polo world.

The FBM Bike Polo Frame is hand built in Ithaca New York, while utilizing a higher bottom bracket to lessen the pedal strike on turns. A sleek head tube on the FBM polo frame to minimize toe overlap, long drop outs for cog options, v-brake bosses, and a longer top tube.

For riding a shorter wheelbase, enough clearance was made for 38mm tires. The frame pictured does not include a gusset, but will when produced. As of now, a release date is not known, but FBM is pushing for this fall. League of Bike Polo has nicknamed the frame “Battle Axe”.

Campus Cruisers and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have teamed up to issue a voluntary recall for around 100 Campus Cruisers Eastside fixed gear bikes. Sadly, the forks on the Eastside are at liberty to crack or even break, in turn the rider can lose control, causing a health hazard.

So far, a total of four reports on cracks have been taken place, which are located beneath the front fork crown. Good news is, no injuries have been reported. The Campus Cruiser is a single speed/fixed gear that released to selected bicycle retailers from March 2010 to May 2010 with a MSRP of $450. If you are a owner, please cease riding the bike, contact a local Campus Cruiser dealer for a free repair. If you are not located by a dealer, then calling Campus Cruiser customer service is your best bet.
