The Gaerne cycling shoes Team Lampre will wear are the Carbon G Myst Plus, and a special edition for the team using pink and blue are expected to be worn by the team. Many professional cyclists wear Gaerne cycling shoes, and the recent partnership with Lampre just widens their takeover in the cycling world. There are a great many cycling shoes out there, however, they are mostly aimed at road and mountain cyclists. The Bontrager Wingtip Urban Cycling Shoes, however, are designed with a more urban taste to them, while still remaining tailored to cycling. They feature full leather uppers with a primary lace closure underneath a buckled hood. A rubber sole and nylon reinforcement help add flexibility and stiffness to the shoe. There is even reflective material in the mix for that nighttime safety. No word yet on availability or pricing, but maybe expect spring at Bontrager.

Two-time Tour de France winner Alberto Contador now has his own signature sneaker, the the Sidi special edition Genius 6.6 carbon. He was presented with these at a visit to Sidi Sport headquarters in Maser, Italy. The shoes are made lighter and stronger, with a handmade Carbon Lite sole. Contador’s special edition sneakers are white with gold highlights, with yellow, red, and gold crown designs commemorating his victories at the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta a Espana. Of the shoes, Sidi Sports says “This Sidi Genius 6.6 Carbon is a special edition that’s only for Contador, not for the public. From January there will be a Sidi Ergo 2 Carbon, similar to this one, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sidi Sport.”
