Recently, Biomega worked with Puma not only on various bikes but to launch a website. Now Biomega has announced they will release two new urban commuters, the NYC and LDN.
Biomega brought in two artist to design the respective bikes. Ross Lovegrove designed the LDN, and Danish design group KiBiSi took on the NYC model. One thing both bikes will have in common is a belt drive, and integrated mudguard.
The Biomega LDN frame is made of carbon fiber sheets, that are layered for a stiff and light one piece monocoque commuter frame. The form is similar to a wishbone, while all parts of the drive (systems and steering). The split towards the forks was added for two reasons: to lighten the bike, and to hang from a wall.

Van Moof comes out with an upgraded No.6 Urban Bike with the goal of elevating the status of the bike being dubbed as a “poor man’s ride”. The No. 6 model will debut at this year’s EuroBike Convention, targeting men and women cyclists on their quest for a sleek bike that is both chic and functional. Van Moof Marketing Niels Bark explains, “Everything about the bike has got to be ‘hater proof’. And we want to lift the bike up so that it isn’t seen as the poor man’s vehicle, but is still affordable, minimalistic, and full of style. You dress up nicely for going to work, and you want something nice to ride.”

The Roadracer from Crud gets modified to become the Crud Roadracer mk2 mud guard. After numerous customer feedback, it now has longer tail pieces. It comes in three parts (nose, blade and tail) which are clipped together. It is extremely flexible without its stays.
It weighs 180 grams per pair and has open holes for stay screws to have easy detachment when something is snagged in the wheel spokes. The stays are made of hlass filled nylon which you can also break easily.
The Roadracer mk2 hovers in place and has fiber brushes which minimizes road vibration and also cleans the surface of the rim.

While the world of folding bikes seems to get larger, Bigfish shares with us their unique and quick folding bike.
The Bigfish Folding Bike uses a one piece front triangle and rear triangle, plus a hinged fork. Bigfish says the bike can be folded within 10 seconds, and this is achieved by quick release fastening throughout the bike. Best part is, no tools are required.
On some folding bikes, you have to worry about the bike collapsing while riding, but since there is no hinge in the front, and a weak point is nonexistent.
