A BMX record has just been broken by a young ripper named Bryce Tryon, who has pulled off a back flip barspin. Tryon is only 11 years old, making him the youngest rider in the world to ever successfully perform such a complicated trick like that.

As early as the age of 9, Bryce Tryon already started participating in BMX competitions and continued making a name for his own in the world of BMX riding.

The said record-breaking feat took place at Woodward West in Tehachapi, California.

Intercity, Gavin Lucas, and Stuart Robinson have written a cycling book entitled Rad Rides: The Best BMX Bikes of All Time. This book is an excellent collaboration of a London-based design studio, a design expert, and a veteran BMX racer.

As the title implies, the book offers a comprehensive look at the history of bicycle motocross and the best BMX bikes ever crafted through the perspective of bike design. In-depth history with first-class photography makes this a must-read for BMX riders.

As the book recounts, the history dates back to 1960s when motocross was very popular and young riders would hack together bike frames to copy their favorite riders. In 1963, the launch of Schwinn Sting Ray gave life to BMX, which eventually reached the Olympics.

For 2012, Colony BMX Co has launched the signature frame of Zac Miner. Built from 100% chromoly material, this BMX bike frame comes with mid BB shell, 5mm CNC machined dropouts and an integrated head tube that is drilled for gyro tabs, all of which are heat-treated.

Unique features of the Miner are invest cast removable Colony brake tabs and seat stay and chain stay gussets, which make this full chromo frame even stronger. Other features include an engraved Colony headtube badge and offset internal gussets on its TT and DT tubing.

The 2012 Colony Miner Signature BMX Frame will be available in five colors and two sizes. The 21in model weighs in at approximately 2.26kg while the 20.8in model is 2.25kg.
