2012 Trek Rumblefish 29 Elite Mountain Bike

For those who are looking for a reliable companion on the trail, Trek Bikes has released an elite mountain bike called Rumblefish 29. Its 29in wheels improve momentum, strength, and obstacle clearance with G2 geometry, guarantees reliable handling under any conditions and speeds.
Built from an Alpha Platinum aluminum frame, the Rumblefish 29 is incredibly durable. This new main frame, which is made even stronger, features 120mm travel, ABP Convert, E2 tapered head tube, and replaceable derailleur hangers.
Riding the 2012 Trek Rumblefish 29 Elite Mountain Bike brings great excitement on the trail, thanks to its well thought of design and carefully selected parts, which include Bontrager saddle, seat post, stem, grips, handlebars, wheels, and tires, as well as Shimano front and rear derailleurs.

I’ve owned the Trek Rumblefish I for less than 6 months and my derailleur hanger has broken 3 times. I’ve spent almost as much time hiking back from breakdowns as I have riding. So far Trek is saying it’s a “fluke”.
Cool bike!
I bought a 2012 Trek Rumblefish Elite a month ago and I just broke my derailleur. It got caught in spokes. I honestly do not think anything hit it but I could be wrong. What did you end up doing? Did Trek Replace your derailleur? Please let me know what you did. Thanks.
hi guys,
i have to say that broken derailleur hangers are not the fault of the bike manufacturer. conditions and terrain are the offenders as well as throw screw adjustment. i’m sure that you have both taken your bikes back to the respective shops and had a mechanic look over the limit screws.
i have broken fair amount of derailleur hangers and though frustrating, i find that areas with foot long 1/2 diameter sticks and slaggy underbrush is evil on derailleurs/hangers.
quit blaming Trek for trail conditions or lack of mechanical skills!
