2012 Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp Clincher Tire

Using an advanced technology, Vredestein has created a new clincher tire for 2012 called Fortezza Tricomp. By using three various rubber compounds with specific characteristics, the TriComp tire technology produces a folding competition tire that perfectly tackles any weather conditions.
Not only is the Fortezza Tricomp made more durable by its Silica rubber compound, it is enhanced in terms of rolling resistance and grip on corners. In the central overlap of its flexible casing is an embedded tightly woven polyamide anti-puncture layer that prevents the risks of getting punctures.
Weighing in at 270g, the 2012 Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp Clincher Tire combines light weight, low rolling resistance, and excellent road feel. The durability of the tire is also enhanced by its Sportex Protection layer, which at the same time reduces flats.

At 270 grams the Fortezza Tricomp is not light. If it were 205 grams, then it would match the Conti GP 4000S and Michelin Pro3/Pro4 and that is pretty light for a clincher.
It’s been hit or miss with Vredesteins for me. Used to ride the Fortezza’s but had the sidewalls fail on 2 different tires; so I gave up on those. Have rode the Fiammante Duocomp’s recently and have been impressed with those as just a trainning/every day tire. They were very puncture resistant, rate the grip on par with the Rubino Pro’s and got very good mileage out of them.
