Specialized has revamped its Crux cyclocross bike line for 2012 by getting rid of the carbon fiber. They have brought disc brakes instead to the mainstream. Moreover, three new tubular cyclocross tires were introduced.
With the three added cantilever brake complete bikes is a canti-ready frame module. With a forged, one-piece brake hanger, the canti models lessen brake chatter. The Crux Comp has Avid mechanical discs matched with Specialized’s CXD wheels, FSA cranks, and a SRAM Apex component group.
The three new tubular cyclocross tires for the 2012 Specialized Crux Cyclocross Bikes are the Terra, Tracer and Trigger. Terra is for mud, Tracer is all-around, and Trigger is for smooth and dry conditions. With the treads hand glued to a 260TPI 33mm polycotton casing, the three tires are quite affordable.
