GT Bicycles have introduced several new 2012 mountain bikes, including the Zaskar. For the 2012 line, the Zaskar embodies the fastest endurance bikes of GT both full suspension and hardtail. An old classic with the latest twist, the hardtail version is updated with modern 29er wheels and carbon fiber frame.

Based on the prior Marathon design, the Zaskar 100 Expert model has significant changes to the frame, including a monocoque molded one-piece rear swing arm and tapered head tube. Riders enjoy not only improved small bump compliance but interchangeability for shock upgrade or replacement, too.

Pinarello has slightly updated its road bike Dogma for 2012. Since 1960, Pinarello has sponsored professional teams that include Team Banesto,Telekom, Caisse d’Epargne, Fassa Bortolo, Prima Alliance, and Sky. For the 2011 Tour de France, the 2012 Pinarello Dogma Road Bike is Team Sky’s new bike.

The minor updates of the bike include a new fork with a weight a little bit reduced. The head tube is again made more integrated in the fork’s profile. Aside from the slightly altered fork, the main changes of the 2012 model are the the new crown and the look of the bike.

Trek has launched the Session 9.9 as part of its 2012 mountain bikes. The Session 9.9 will be the very first carbon downhill bike that features the innovative InTension application, which functions as the i-beam center section that transfer shear loads between the two faces of carbon.

Along with the new redesigned frame is an increased suspension travel to a race-thumping 210mm from the Fox DRCV Fork. Compared to the 2011 aluminum frame, the 2012 carbon frame is approximately 800 grams lighter. Moving to a carbon frame on the bike allows for internal cable routing.

Although made lighter, the excellent performance of this innovative lightweight DH race bike is not compromised. It is still one of the most responsive and defined race frames on the market today. No wonder, World Cup superstar Aaron Gwin makes the 2012 Trek Session 9.9 Mountain Bike his current choice.
