Trek has launched the Session 9.9 as part of its 2012 mountain bikes. The Session 9.9 will be the very first carbon downhill bike that features the innovative InTension application, which functions as the i-beam center section that transfer shear loads between the two faces of carbon.

Along with the new redesigned frame is an increased suspension travel to a race-thumping 210mm from the Fox DRCV Fork. Compared to the 2011 aluminum frame, the 2012 carbon frame is approximately 800 grams lighter. Moving to a carbon frame on the bike allows for internal cable routing.

Although made lighter, the excellent performance of this innovative lightweight DH race bike is not compromised. It is still one of the most responsive and defined race frames on the market today.
