Launched by Cannondale Bicycles is the new 2012 SuperSix Evo chassis. Despite its incredibly low frame weight of 695g in a size 56cm, the frame satisfies the standards of Cannondale’s own test lab and the Liquigas-Cannondale professional cycling team as well.
By using Cannondale’s new carbon molding technique, the SuperSix Evo achieved major weight savings. The carbon fiber material of the frame is laid up around an EPS core, which has detailed instructions on the fiber layup so it can be precisely assembled.
With the tubes that are mostly round section, saving weight is definitely the top priority of the 2012 Cannondale SuperSix Evo. Since bonded-in dropouts need thicker tubes to bond to, the technique vastly reduced the tube thickness. Aero performance is featured by the SuperSix Evo as well.
