Jamis Bikes returns all set in proving that trickle-down technology is still a good thing with their new 2011 Jamis Trail X1 MTB for women.
While the bike shares semblance with other existing bikes from Jamis such as the Enduro and the Dakota, the bike maker assures fans of the brand, particularly the women riders that this will be a unique bike featuring a sloping Y-shaped top tube and great parts to boot. The Jamis Trail X1 definitely delivers both strength and lightness.
It uses an Endura III frame design with a 6061 aluminum main tube and extended seat mast with additional braces to add for extra support and a special derailleur hanger. The bike also sports an RST 191-T alloy crown with front and rear derailleurs from Shimano. The X1 has a total of 21 gears.
The components included in this women’s bikes are Shimano Acera ST-EF51 EZ-Fire Plus Shifters and a forged alloy chainset with 170 mm cranks. The bottom brackets feature a sealed cartridge and ATB platform pedals with hi-impact resin cage and body.
Finally, the bike weighs a surprising 31.25 lbs and costs $377.31.
