The new and improved 2011 Velocite Magnus Road Bike Frame is back with a vengeance and ready to hit the road once more.
The new bike features a stronger and more durable frame and offers immense stiffness perfect for riders looking for full control. The producers of this great looking bike also aimed to please and that is the reason why aside from making it look more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, the new Magnus is also supposed to make waves in terms of performance. It has been subjected to more intense and brutal live testings in the hope of fixing all the quirks and iron out all deficiencies from the 2010 model.
The 2011 Magnus bike frame is made of a full carbon monocoque Velocite Bora S Tapered 1.5 fork, which also happens to be 20% lighter compared to the previous model and weighs in at 360 grams.
Over 13 layers of various modulus of carbon fibers have also been added into the bike layup to give riders added comfort while taking to the road. Included in the 13 layers are ultra high modulus carbon fiber in critical areas surrounding the bike. The bike layup also boasts of a high frequency vibration dampening property to add even more comfort.
The new and improved Magnus includes aerodynamically profiled and curved seat stays as well as a patented seat post clamping mechanism, which can give as much torque as 10Nm.
For the bike’s carbon head set, a lot of major changes have been added. The bike’s carbon head set has been internally re-profiled to increase the compatibility with other types of bearings. The bike’s cable head tube routing also improves the overall look and appearance of the bike as well as make it easy to use for riders both beginners and experts alike. The bike also sports a full carbon BB30 shell, which has been a staple in the Magnus ever since it was launched back in 2009.
The bike is priced at $2499 and weighs 1072 grams, including the seat post, fork, seat post clamp and the headset.
