A Part of the Cervelo P-series, the 2011 Cervelo P4 bike has 25 upgrades. It is the world’s first fully-integrated aero triathlon tri bike.
Built with Cervelo FK25 frameset and Cervelo Aero TT seatpost, the P4 bike is made for faster and more comfortable racing.
Its Aerodynamic design was implemented to reduce drag resistance and increase speed at the same time. In SRAM 900 TT components and Shimano RS30 wheels, the 2011 Cervelo P4 bike is made with better handling and stiffness characteristics.
The P4 bike features an all-carbon fiber frame that provides maximum stability on curves and on 100kmh speeds without altering the weight and stiffness. The rear brake is hidden behind the bottom bracket instead of being positioned above or below the chainstays, adding to the P4 aerodynamics. Providing exactly the same power as Shimano Dura-Ace brakes, the carbon brake booster is 30% lighter.
When it comes to hydration, the P4 bike is faster because of the 570ml water bottle that fits perfectly, with the downtube, seat tube and bottom bracket integrated in a single aero form.
The custom fork is integrated into the head tube and the down tube with better spacing between the wheels and the frame that provides less chances of drag. This bike also features an optimized aero tube shapes that allows more airflow and decreases turbulence.
The geometry of the 2011 Cervelo P4 bike provides two essential benefits for riders. First, the handlebars and the saddle are placed in the right and perfect position relative to the bottom bracket, making it very simple in its standard set-up and very easy and fast to position your body in the most comfortable manner. Second, the seat post design and the different headtube lengths between the P1/P2 and the P3/P4 provide a wide variety of positions. This would allow riders of non-standard fit to make use of Cervelo’s aerodynamic system and handling performance without going custom.
