The 2011 cycling season will prove to be a big victory not only for cycling teams from around the world but also for the Europcar Professional Cycling Team Custom kit and custom helmet.
One great thing that racing teams should look forward to this year is that Louis Garneau will now officially be providing both apparel and helmets for cycling. The new and improved helmet and apparel is the product of intense study and observation of a windtunnel’s effect on body acceleration to enhance the aerodynamic performance. Louis Garneau’s International Marketing Director, Pierre Perro, was proud when saying that the new apparel and helmet will definitely exceed any standards on cycling apparel.
With the help of the study conducted on wind resistance to a cyclist’s placing, the technology and the design for the Mondo Jersey was created. The upgraded jersey has multiple zones and technology that can easily adapt with airflow penetration and direction. The added speed tech shoulder panels in the meantime reduce frontal pressure as well as reduce the wind resistance in some important parts of the rider’s body. The Mondo Jersey’s Aero Lazer Band also offers wind resistance reduction as well as give a second skin feel and makes movement easy and light. The jersey also provides a Power Mesh area for the underarm to provide soothing comfort for athletes.
The Mondo Jersey has the Lazer Cut Bib that was designed with a seamless Aero Lazer band and is based on biomechanical studies of a rider’s body and needs for better performance. The bib offers riders a second skin feeling and muscle support that boosts the performance and actions of the wearer. The whole of the Louis Garneau Lazer Cut bib also sports a 4Motion chamois design paired with 3D preshaped wings and a deep split at the back area, which improves multidirectional motion and gives the cyclist great comfort. The jersey is also equipped with high density, multi thickness foams that retains its shape while at the same time offering moisture vaporization as the bib’s central channel shape relieves the cyclist of some pressure from the urethra.
As for the helmets, the team will be riding with Louis Garneau helmets including models like the Quartz, the Diamond and the Vorttice. While all models are the perfect fit for most cyclists, it is the Quartz that totally reigns supreme with some very cool designs and improvements in helmet design including a huge ventilation channel done with MSB technology, which features enhanced protection for the rider’s head thanks to a a monocoque structural base by the base of the helmet itself. The Quartz helmet employs composite reinforcements that helps spread the shock and force of an impact away from the head.
Another great feature for the Quartz is the patented Spiderlock Elite Retention, which helps the rider easily angle and adjust the helmet with just one hand while riding. It also give the proper support with built-in ergonomic foam padding.
Pierre Perron adds that when building the helmet, Louis Garneau takes into consideration that airflow to improve a rider’s performance as well as moisture channels to let the air from the helmet’s front efficiently flow through the helmet and subsequently to the rider’s head.
