2011 Orbea Alma 29er

Orbea upgraded its Alma model with the 2011 Alma 29er. Made with “silver” mid-modulus carbon fiber, the Alma 29er is more resistant to whatever hard trail riding you can throw at it. Orbea’s USA National sales manager Ronnie Points shares, “We used Kenda 2.2 Nevegal tires as the benchmark and still achieved 4 to 5mm clearance on either stay. Seat stays have about 7 to 8mm clearance, so this bike will handle serious conditions.”

The Alma 29er has a tapered headtube, 29er specific 439 chain stays and BB30. It now has 100mm travel and features DCR cable routing with the aim for longer life of the cables. The geometry for the Alma was modified by Orbea, using the Size Specific Nerve technology or SSN to match the rider’s height and weight to the frame’s layups and carbon structures. It comes in 3 sizes (16.5, 18.5 and 20.5).
