The 2011 Turner 5.Spot features an aluminum frame with dw-link suspension for enduro trail and XC riding. It has a Fox 32 Float Fit RLC 150mm travel fork with RP23 shock and Formula RX brakes. Slacker than previous models, it now has a 67.7 degrees head angle. There is also an option for an upgrade to TALAS (Travel Adjuster Linier Air Spring) fork.

With zero stack toptube, bars, stem and seatpost are from Raceface Evolve. The Turner 5.Spot has separate cable guides, with laser etched graphics and SLX 3×10 drivetrain. It comes with DT wheelset, Continental Trail King 2.2 tires and RaceFace Evolve bars, stem and seatpost.

The Turner 5.Spot has a Cane Creek S3 headset and 44XX on the bottom. Other components on the trail bike includes WTB Rocket V saddle and soft ODI grips. Weighing 28.7 lbs (medium), the trail-kit retails for $4598.

Chromag releases its latest frame for 2011, the Aperture. Due in March, the Aperture is a mid-weight frame that is ideal for all-mountain and XC riding. Lightweight at 5.65 lbs, the frame uses Sanko chromo tubing that’s custom made to match the CNC dropouts, polished stainless steel ISCG tabs and headtube badge.

The Aperture’s geometry follows that of Chromag’s Samurai frame, which is optimized for 120-140mm forks. It has a headset size of 1.125 inches and a seatpost size of 27.2mm. Bottom bracket height is at 12.25 inches and a BB shell of 68mm. The chainstay length is 16.5 inches while 4.5-inch headtube can give a 68 degree head angle with 71 degree seat tube angle for 125mm travel fork.

Specialized updated the Roubaix SL3 for 2011, making it one of the smoothest and fastest bike on the market. The goal of the design was to make sure that jarring and vibration over uneven roads and rough roads will not be experienced by the rider.

To make this possible, the Zertz elastomer inserts were placed mechanically in the seatstays unlike before. This damping gives about 6mm degree of flex. The frame becomes more stiff and durable when the inserts were pressed onto it.

There is a new stay molding with one bladder on each leg with a new shape for the stays. The stays are now 3D and it trickles from the dropouts to the seat tube for additional side-to-side stability.

The 2011 Charge Filter sports a traditional geometry, ideal for commuting as well as cyclocross racing. With Tange Prestige Cromoly frame and fork, the Filter Hi shows a semi-compact build. It has SRAM Apex components and Truvativ 50/34 chainset.

For brakes, the Filter Hi has Avid Shorty 4 cantilevers. The FSA Vero compact handlebar has a shallow profile and matches with the FSA TH-857 headset. Optional mudguards can be placed due to longer chainstays.
