The 2011 RT series from Ghost Bikes is deemed to be where hardtail speed meets all-mountain damping performance. The RT range characteristically offer increased traction performance for uphill rides and faster downhill rides due to less pedal bobbing action. It comes in Ghost Bike’s Actinum and Lector classification where the former pertains to aluminum frames while the latter is for a carbon fiber front triangle with an alloy rear.

The RT Lector has 5 models. These are the RT Lector 5700, 7700, 9000, World Cup and Pro Team. The top model, RT Lector Pro Team features a SID XX World Cup fork with a DT XR carbon shock and SRAM XX components. It comes with a Tune Princess and Prince No Tubes Race wheelset.

Colnago can now be accessed from the iPad through an application created by Future plc. The free iPad app can be downloaded for free through iTunes. It shows the history of Colnago with spectacular photos and bits of trivia.

The iPad app also features the technology behind the success of Colnago bicycles. The 2011 bike models are placed on the tip of your fingers, up close and personal. The Colnago C59 Italia is only one among the many bikes this software offers. The gallery of photos includes the Bbox team caught in action on the road or on different tours plus different bikes throughout the years.

The 2011 Colnago iPad App is only 300 MB and requires iOS 3.2 or later version.

Transition Bikes reveals a new trail bike for spring of 2011 called the Bandit. It comes with 130mm of rear travel, 68 degree head angle and a 74 degree seat angle. The Bandit’s geometry aims for a more upright riding position and comes in four sizes.

With 16.9″ chainstays, the Bandit runs with a 140mm Fox RP23 shock and uses Transition’s usual suspension system, the low single pivot linkage.

The Bandit’s design is slightly regressive with a firm top but is easy to handle for cornering, descents and climbs with its custom hydroformed tubeset that features a tapered headtube and 135mm x 10mm dropouts.

MSRP for the 2011 Transition Bandit is $1549 for the frame and shock.

Jamis reinforces the idea of steel in 2011 as a steady and most capable platform when it comes to road bikes with the Satellite. Using Reynolds 520 double-butted chromoly main tubes, the Satellite is further made rider-specific with Jamis’ SST tubing diameters.

The steel frame is matched with a full carbon composite fork with forged alloy dropouts and single eyelets. The 2011 Satellite features a sloping top tube design and double-tapered cromo stays. The 1 1/8″ headset houses NVO components, Ritchey handlebar and stem with a Jamis bar tape and Touring Sport saddle and satin steel rails.

The rest of the classic design is Shimano Tiagra derailleurs, SRAM cassette and an FSA Vero triple crankset with sealed cartridge bottom bracket.
