For 2011, Sidi introduces the Ergo 2 Carbon Lite shoe together with the SDS Nevada, SDS Sierra and the Dominator 5. The Ergo 2 has one of the lightest soles with its Aeronet Lite carbon material. Added features like a Lorica microfiber upper, caliper buckle and Sidi’s Techno II buckle system makes it breathable yet strong enough to withstand the toughest of conditions. A limited edition of bronze and silver are available for 2011.
SDS stands for Sidi Design Series. The shoes under this collection are made in China with a three-strap velcro closure system although the women versions are not yet available until 2012. For road cycling, the SDS Nevada has a fiberglass reinforced nylon sole and a TPU shaped heel cup with reflective inserts on the back over the heel of the shoe.
For mountain biking, the SDS Sierra possesses a microfiber upper with a fiberglass reinforced nylon sole and polyurethane tread. The Dominator 5 is another mountain biking shoe that has a high security velcro for a secure fit and a soft instep closure system to keep the shoe comfortable and helps in distributing pressure evenly. A caliper buckle and sole allows two toe spikes to be fitted when traction is needed.
Retail price for the Ergo 2 is $450 to $500. The SDS models are priced at $150.
