Orange Bikes modified a bit of something on its Alpine 160 for 2011. Stemming from the Alpine Five prototype, the Alpine 160 features a tapered headtube, hydroformed top tube from Reynolds, Fox 36 160 float R TS fork and an oversized monocoque downtube. It has a 6061 aluminum seat tube that comes with a 30.9mm diameter for more seatpost options. The result is a more responsive bike with a Fox Float RP23 shock that stresses lateral stiffness and maximum traction, ideal for descents and climbs.
The 2011 Alpine 160 also brings a Race Face X type bottom bracket, flat pedals, Truvativ handlebar, stem and post and SDG Bel Air saddle to the table. Its aggressive geometry is well matched to the Cane Creek headset, Mavic rims, Maxxis Hi Roller tires and DT Swiss spokes on the bike. MSRP is £2999.99.
