For entry-level mountain bikers, the 2011 ASX series from Ghost Bikes is of similar geometry with the AMR range but with components that are more friendly on the pocket. The ASX range has four models with 120mm travel front and rear.
Ghost Bikes continued to feature double-butted tubing and a four bar linkage suspension on the ASX. Although, the specs are simple, the quality of each model was never compromised. Alex rims, Schwalbe tires and Ritchey kit are found on the ASX bikes.
The top high-end model for the range is the ASX 5500. It uses a Fox 32 Float RL fork, Shimano SLX drivetrain, X-Fusion o2 RLR shock and Avid Elixir 3 brakes. Second to the 5500 is the ASX 5100. This model has a 10-speed XT/SLX mix drivetrain and uses Shimano 505 disc brakes and levers.
The ASX 4900 sports a tapered headtube to match its tapered RST Titan Air SLR fork. As for shocks, it has the X-Fusion 02 rebound adjustable shock. Tektro Draco disc brakes ensures efficient stopping power.
Finally, the ASX 3700 rounds up the series as the most affordable bike in the line-up. A 9-speed Shimano Alivio/Deore mix and the X-Fusion E1R Air shock are present with Tektro Draco hydraulic disc brakes. The 3700 has a non-tapered headtube and has a RST Titan Air LO fork.
