Cannondale offers an entry-level race bike, its 2011 Trail SL 5 hardtail. It uses advance aluminum construction that features smooth welding and tubing for its 1.5″ headtube. Its geometry matches that of the Cannondale Flash with specs that make it a stiff and strong bike with a RST Gila Pro TnL 100mm fork.
The 2011 Trail SL 5 sports the Save Micros Suspension System. This brings lateral rigidity and vertical compliance without sacrificing power transfer by optimizing the chain stay and seat stay shaping. The hardtail continues to be comfortable and absorbs the bumps and twists well.
Detailed specs for the hardtail include Cane Creek semi-integrated 1 1/8″ headset, Cannondale stem, bar and seatpost, Shimano Alivio shifters, Promax Orange mechanical brakes, Formula hubs, Alex rims, Schwalbe Black Jack tires and a Cannondale Halo saddle.
