November 23rd was a great day for Trek. The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted Trek a patent on the Active Braking Pivot (ABP) suspension system (patent number #7,837,213).
Created by Trek suspension engineers Dylan Howes, Jose Gonzalez, and James Colegrove, ABP is the first of its kind to separate braking and suspension forces.
Trek’s Active Braking Pivot project started in 2006 and released to the public in 2007. Since 2007, ABP is offered through the 2011 Trek full suspension line.
We at Bike Reviews congratulate Trek on the fantastic news.
