A fun event it was at yesterday’s SF Bike Expo in San Francisco, CA with its many competitions occurring throughout the day.
Lots of riding styles held competitions at the Cow Palace, including cyclocross racing, dirt and trick BMX comps, a fixed gear freestyle and trackstand event, and other forms of off-road riding.
The outdoor courses were well suited for riders of all styles. Bordering it all was a race track that encompassed tarmac, dirt, and hills for off-road riders who competed in the Cross Palace and Pump Track event.
In the epicenter of the off-road race track was dirt jumps, ramps, and a kids course. Crowds congregated at their show of interested under S.F.’s beautiful clear skies.
Also present among the number of events at the SF Bike Expo was Pedal Savvy’s bicycle fashion show and The Cycle Showdown, a ‘showdown’ among customs, vintage bikes, fixed gears, and lowrider bikes as music boomed in the background.
Unfortunately, the fun for riders and spectators came to an end at 6pm. The SF Bike Expo will be back, however, next year and there’s now doubt in our minds that it’ll be bigger and better when that day comes.
